We Rebuild has launched Operation ”Revelation” aiming at contacting MEPs in the European Parliament concerning the final negotiations of the Telecoms Package.
We Rebuild needs help from citizens all over Europe to contact members of the Conciliation Committee during the third reading of the Conciliation Procedure, in order to raise an awareness about Net Neutrality as well as our fundamental freedoms and rights.
The following guide will provide you with tools and information on how you can make the Telecoms Package a public issue, and We Rebuild urges you to participate in this campaign. Together we can make a difference. Last time when citizens made a great difference and sent schock waves around Europe, was during the second reading earlier this year. We have the capacity, we have done it before, we have the arguments and we have friends all over Europe that will do the same.
On Monday (evening), September 28 , the Conciliation Committee have their first meeting, after which we will know more about the different opinions about the final reading. We need to act before that! This is why We Rebuild has initiated this operation in order to both raise public awareness as well as calling, e-mailing and faxing European parliamentarians and speak about your concern for Net Neutrality and the need for fundamental rights.
What is Net Neutrality?
The following description comes from La Quadrature du Net:
”Net neutrality has been an indispensable catalyst of competition, innovation, and fundamental freedoms in the digital environment. A neutral Internet ensures that users face no conditions limiting access to applications and services. Likewise, it rules out any discrimination against the source, destination or actual content of the data transmitted over the network. In the words of Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web, it is “the freedom of connection, with any application, to any party”.
”Net neutrality thus guarantees that the flow of information that runs trough the communication architecture is neither blocked nor degraded by telecommunications operators, so that end-users can freely and efficiently make use of the network.”

Remember all efforts, calls, tips, information, and work is much appreciated and much needed at this time. This is very urgent and I cannot stress enough the importance of immediately reaching out to the citizens of Europe.
27 MEPs are going to decide about something that may affect as many as 500+ people – it’s now up to us that we show what principles and which rights are important in the third reading of the telecoms package.
